PHC Research Capacity Building in Rural and Remote Australia

An invitation to apply for funding through this program was made individually to each existing Round 1 CRE that had a rural presence (i.e. at least one CI was rurally based) and a rural component in their approved research program. The purpose of the funding program was to provide additional research training support for rurally-based researchers. The focus of support was on Higher Degree Research (HDR) students or early career post-doctoral fellows. The APHCRI preference was for responses providing support for several people rather than just for one or two.

Two projects were awarded.

Eligible CREs were invited to submit a proposal for up to $ 150,000 in total over the remainder of their CRE funding period.
