Biography

Dagmar has been associated with APHCRI since April 2009 when she commenced as a Research Fellow on a Commonwealth commissioned research project. In 2010, Dagmar took up management of the inaugural and second rounds of Centres of Research Excellence. In that role, Dagmar instigated the development of the initial handbook for applicants, and all early policies and procedures supporting the associated logistics, probity documentation, and other related infrastructures. Dagmar had just commenced developing an evaluation framework to capture deliverables from the Centres of Research Excellence projects before leaving APHCRI to broaden her skills in the research field in another aspect of PHC.

In her management of the Centres of Research Excellence and other APHCRI research areas, Dagmar has become conversant with key aspects of National Health Reform including the National Primary Care Strategy and Primary Care Reform in Australia. Key aspects of Primary Care Reform frame APHCRIs research agenda particularly as they relate to the National Health Priority Areas. Dagmar has some 30 years of clinical, managerial and developmental experience in primary care in both the public and the private health systems. Dagmar has maintained her knowledge of Primary Care through recent work in which she facilitated integration of community pharmacists into some areas of primary care.

Dagmar has recently completed a review of the APHCRI Grants Commissioning Process, comparing 35 similar national and international organisations to assist in streamlining the APHCRI commissioning process. She has a sound grasp of the related issues facing Australian Primary Care.
